Nach der Datenschutz-Grundverordnung (DSGVO) hast du als Nutzer:in von WalkieDogie weitreichende Rechte gegenüber uns als verantwortlicher Stelle (Art. 4 Nr. 7 DSGVO). Diese Seite erklärt, welche Rechte du hast und wie du sie ausübst. Antworten und Umsetzungen erfolgen kostenfrei innerhalb der gesetzlichen Frist von einem Monat (Art. 12 Abs. 3 DSGVO).

1. Auskunft & Datenexport (Art. 15 und Art. 20 DSGVO)
Du hast das Recht zu erfahren, welche Daten wir über dich verarbeiten, zu welchem Zweck und an wen wir sie weitergeben. Darüber hinaus hast du das Recht, diese Daten in einem strukturierten, gängigen und maschinenlesbaren Format zu erhalten.
So exportierst du deine Daten
- Öffne WalkieDogie.
- Gehe zu Profil → Über die App → Datenschutz → Daten exportieren.
- Tippe auf "Export anfordern".
Du erhältst eine JSON-Datei mit folgendem Inhalt:
- Profil (Name, Avatar, Bio, Standort, Sichtbarkeits-Einstellungen)
- Hundeprofile (Name, Rasse, Größe, Foto-Referenzen)
- Freundschafts-Beziehungen
- Spaziergänge (als Ersteller:in und Teilnehmer:in)
- Bewertungen (abgegebene und erhaltene)
- Nachrichten (1:1-Chats, eigene Beiträge in Gruppen-Chats)
- Foto-Manifest mit signierten Download-Links (7 Tage gültig)
- Liste der Auftragsverarbeiter (Sub-Processors)
Format
Der Export ist eine JSON-Datei (UTF-8) und erfüllt die Anforderungen von Art. 20 DSGVO an Strukturierbarkeit und Maschinenlesbarkeit. Die Datei lässt sich grundsätzlich an andere Dienste übertragen, sofern diese ein vergleichbares Format akzeptieren.
Rate-Limit
Aus Sicherheitsgründen ist ein Export pro 24 Stunden möglich. Jede Export-Anfrage wird zur Nachweisbarkeit (Art. 5 Abs. 2 DSGVO) protokolliert.

2. Berichtigung (Art. 16 DSGVO)
Du hast das Recht, unrichtige Daten unverzüglich berichtigen zu lassen. In WalkieDogie kannst du folgende Daten selbst korrigieren:

3. Löschung (Art. 17 DSGVO)

4. Einschränkung der Verarbeitung (Art. 18 DSGVO)
Du hast das Recht, die Verarbeitung deiner Daten einschränken zu lassen, z. B.:
- wenn du die Richtigkeit der Daten bestreitest,
- die Verarbeitung unrechtmäßig ist, du die Löschung aber ablehnst,
- wir die Daten nicht mehr benötigen, du sie aber zur Rechtsdurchsetzung brauchst,
- du Widerspruch nach Art. 21 eingelegt hast und die Abwägung noch offen ist.
So gehst du vor: Schreib eine E-Mail an <PLACEHOLDER:privacy@walkiedogie.app> mit dem Betreff "Einschränkung Art. 18 DSGVO" und einer kurzen Begründung. Wir setzen dein Konto innerhalb eines Monats auf restricted – schreibende Operationen werden gesperrt, die Daten bleiben erhalten und werden nicht weiter verarbeitet, bis die Einschränkung aufgehoben wird.
Diese Einschränkung erfolgt als manueller Prozess durch unser Team; eine Selbstbedienung in der App ist hierfür nicht vorgesehen.
5. Widerspruch (Art. 21 DSGVO)
Du hast das Recht, jederzeit der Verarbeitung deiner Daten zu widersprechen, soweit diese auf einem berechtigten Interesse (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO) basiert. In WalkieDogie betrifft das insbesondere:
Bewertungen (walk_ratings)
Andere Nutzer:innen können dich nach gemeinsamen Spaziergängen bewerten (berechtigtes Interesse: Sicherheit und Vertrauen in der Community).
So widersprichst du in der App:
- Gehe zu Profil → Über die App → Datenschutz.
- Aktiviere den Schalter "Ich widerspreche der Verarbeitung meiner Bewertungen durch andere Nutzer:innen".
Folgen:
- Bestehende Bewertungen werden nicht automatisch gelöscht. Sie sind weiterhin für die Sicherheit anderer Nutzer:innen relevant (Abwägung Art. 21 Abs. 1 DSGVO).
- Du kannst nicht mehr neu bewertet werden, solange der Widerspruch aktiv ist.
- Du kannst den Widerspruch jederzeit zurücknehmen.
Wenn du auch die Löschung bestehender Bewertungen verlangst, schreib uns an <PLACEHOLDER:privacy@walkiedogie.app> – wir prüfen das im Einzelfall.
6. Keine automatisierte Einzelentscheidung (Art. 22 DSGVO)
WalkieDogie trifft keine Entscheidungen mit rechtlicher Wirkung allein auf Basis automatisierter Verarbeitung. Der angezeigte Kompatibilitäts-Score zwischen Profilen ist eine Empfehlung ohne rechtliche oder vergleichbar erhebliche Auswirkung.
7. Beschwerderecht (Art. 77 DSGVO)
Unbeschadet eines anderweitigen verwaltungsrechtlichen oder gerichtlichen Rechtsbehelfs steht dir das Recht auf Beschwerde bei einer Datenschutz-Aufsichtsbehörde zu, insbesondere im Mitgliedstaat deines Aufenthaltsorts, deines Arbeitsplatzes oder des Orts des mutmaßlichen Verstoßes.

Identitätsprüfung
Bei Anfragen per E-Mail prüfen wir deine Identität, um die Daten nicht versehentlich an Dritte herauszugeben (Art. 12 Abs. 6 DSGVO). Wir fragen dazu Angaben ab, die nur die Konto-Inhaber:in kennen kann (z. B. registrierte E-Mail, ungefähres Anmeldedatum).

Your data subject rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you as a WalkieDogie user have extensive rights against us as the data controller (Art. 4(7) GDPR). This page explains which rights you have and how to exercise them. Responses and actions are free of charge and provided within the statutory deadline of one month (Art. 12(3) GDPR).
The German version of this document is authoritative. In case of differences, the German text prevails.

1. Access and data export (Art. 15 and Art. 20 GDPR)
You have the right to know which data we process about you, for what purpose, and to whom we disclose it. You also have the right to receive this data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
How to export your data
- Open WalkieDogie.
- Go to Profile → About → Privacy → Export my data.
- Tap "Request export".
You will receive a JSON file containing:
- Profile (name, avatar, bio, location, visibility settings)
- Dog profiles (name, breed, size, photo references)
- Friendship relations
- Walks (as organizer and participant)
- Ratings (given and received)
- Messages (1:1 chats, your own contributions in group chats)
- Photo manifest with signed download URLs (valid for 7 days)
- List of sub-processors
Format
The export is a JSON file (UTF-8) and meets the requirements of Art. 20 GDPR for being structured and machine-readable. The file can in principle be transferred to other services that accept a comparable format.
Rate limit
For security reasons, one export per 24 hours is allowed. Every export request is logged for accountability (Art. 5(2) GDPR).
If you no longer have access to the app
Send an email to <PLACEHOLDER:privacy@walkiedogie.app> with the subject line "Data access Art. 15 GDPR" and the email address registered to your account. After identity verification we will respond within one month.
2. Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
You have the right to have inaccurate data rectified without undue delay. In WalkieDogie you can correct the following data yourself:

3. Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
See the dedicated instructions at walkiedogie.app/account-deletion.
4. Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
You have the right to have processing of your data restricted, for example:
- if you contest the accuracy of the data,
- if processing is unlawful but you object to erasure,
- if we no longer need the data but you need it for legal claims,
- if you have objected under Art. 21 and the balancing of interests is still being assessed.
How to proceed: Send an email to <PLACEHOLDER:privacy@walkiedogie.app> with the subject line "Restriction Art. 18 GDPR" and a short explanation. Within one month we will set your account to restricted – write operations are blocked, the data is preserved and no longer processed until the restriction is lifted.
This restriction is handled as a manual process by our team; there is no self-service option in the app.
5. Objection (Art. 21 GDPR)
You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your data where that processing is based on a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). In WalkieDogie this particularly concerns:
Ratings (walk_ratings)
Other users can rate you after shared walks (legitimate interest: safety and trust in the community).
How to object in the app:
- Go to Profile → About → Privacy.
- Enable the switch "I object to the processing of my ratings by other users".
Consequences:
- Existing ratings will not be deleted automatically. They remain relevant for the safety of other users (balancing of interests under Art. 21(1) GDPR).
- You can no longer be newly rated while the objection is active.
- You can withdraw the objection at any time.

6. No automated decision-making (Art. 22 GDPR)
WalkieDogie does not make decisions producing legal effects based solely on automated processing. The compatibility score shown between profiles is a recommendation with no legal or similarly significant effect.
7. Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77 GDPR)
Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement.

Response and processing times
- Confirmation of receipt: within 7 days
- Full response / action: within one month (Art. 12(3) GDPR)
- Extension by up to 2 additional months: only in cases of particular complexity, with justification
Identity verification
For requests by email, we verify your identity to avoid disclosing data to third parties (Art. 12(6) GDPR). We ask for details only the account holder could know (e.g. registered email address, approximate sign-up date).
